Sample Home Inspection Reports

Meet your inspector

I’m Shawn Duckett, a lifelong craftsman with over two decades of hands-on experience in nearly every area of home construction and improvement. Before becoming a licensed home inspector, I spent years running successful service businesses in carpentry, roofing, security, and remodeling—working on everything from fine trim and hidden rooms to full roof replacements and custom installations. That foundation gives me a unique eye for detail and the ability to spot what others might miss.

I hold an Ohio Home Inspector License, have completed ICA’s 120-hour training and 40-hour field certification, and passed the National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE). I also hold degrees in Architecture and Engineering, as well as a few other non-related degrees. Combining technical precision with a genuine passion for helping people make wise, confident decisions about their homes.

My education in Architecture and background in the trades give me a sharp eye for quality and safety, while my commitment to ongoing training through InterNACHI ensures every inspection meets or exceeds state-approved standards.

At Blue Duck Home Inspection, I follow the InterNACHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, approved by the State of Ohio. My inspections are detailed, honest, and focused on education—so every client walks away understanding not just what’s wrong, but why it matters and how to fix it.

I believe in integrity, clear communication, and doing the job right the first time. At Blue Duck, I don’t just check boxes — I provide clear, objective reports that help you make confident decisions. My job isn’t to fix problems or tell you how; it’s to point out what needs attention and recommend the right expert to handle it. That keeps you informed, protected, and in control.

Serving Southern Ohio and surrounding areas with professionalism, precision, and care—because your peace of mind deserves nothing less.
